LED globe fitting types, MR16, GU10, E27, Bayonet
LED lamps come in a variety of base fittings similar to traditional light sources. This means you can easily replace all the lights bulbs in your home with LED's. Below are photographs of each type of fitting along with any alternative names.
MR16
The MR16 fitting consists of two sharp pins. MR16 fittings are primarily used for 12V LED lights and is one of the most common types of fittings used for low voltage downlights.
The E27 is known as the Edison Screw and is used in 240V light bulbs. The E27 is also common type of fitting for standard household light fittings. The E26 looks similar to the E27 except it is smaller in size.
The GU10 connection consists of two pins that fit into slots designed into the light fitting. The GU10 fitting is a common fitting used in 240V downlights
The B22 also known as the Bayonet fitting is slowly becoming extinct. This type of fitting is mainly found in older buildings and is of a 240V type.
